Wedding Film
Here is a breakdown of all the sequences that usually feature in one of my wedding films. This will give you a good idea of how your finished wedding film will look. For length reasons I haven’t included a full ceremony or speeches here, although they will of course be included in the finished film.
Preparations
I’ll begin the day with some preparations filming – or if you prefer I can start at the ceremony venue. Here is an example of some preparations at the bride’s home before she leaves for the ceremony.
Arrivals
I always like to arrive at the ceremony location in plenty of time to capture some of the venue and then everyone arriving. This is the kind of stuff you’re likely to miss on the day!
Vows
This clip gives an idea of the sound during a ceremony. I place a small, invisible lapel mic on the groom – this picks up both of your vows with perfect clarity without anyone needing to know it’s there!
Post Ceremony
Following the bride and groom as they exit the ceremony and have some photos before leaving for the reception.
Drinks Reception
The drinks reception is a great opportunity to get some more of your guests on the video while everyone’s mingling!
Photo Shoot
I love to get some shots while the photographer takes pictures of the happy couple – it gives me some of the most iconic footage of the whole day.
Wedding Breakfast
I always like to grab footage of the reception room – and all the details – before everyone pours in for the wedding breakfast.
First Dance
After speeches and cake cutting it’s time for the first dance. Note the use of two camera angles in this clip – I always use two cameras to film the ceremony, speeches and first dance.
Dancing
Time for the fun stuff, as everyone pours onto the dancefloor. Spot the celebrity bridesmaid!
Highlights
And so to the highlights film – a distillation of the best bits of the day edited to the length of a song. These are hugely effective sequences, and the perfect end to your wedding film.
